The Animated Series' Creator Has Seen Your Second Season Predictions — And She Has Positive Updates

The highly-awaited second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on Prime Video this week, and audience theories has been rampant.

Season 1 introduces a diverse group of personalities living within the afterlife, sets them at odds with songs detailing their conflicts, and establishes heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel audience devotion.

The community's expectations for the new season differ greatly, but certain themes emerge over and over: Could Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't produce the show with audience demands as the main goal," the showrunner stated recently. "But I believe that me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator reveals her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by the production companies, which produce the series.

That could imply viewers have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how fast season 2 moves, and how much of what they're waiting for happens this season.

"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some really amazing disclosures, some fascinating backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — especially in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a couple people create a bingo card about the new season," she mentions. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've already completed some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
